This UX/UI example is an excellent component for a home page I think. It’s just a real simple yet great looking layout offering 2-5 choices. With a little bit of modification it would even work great on Mobile, although on mobile maybe limit it to 2-3 choices?
Adding a navigation bar with a logo to the top of the screen wouldn’t mess up the look, nor would simply adding some kind of down arrow symbol to let people know there was more content below if they just want to scroll down. In this example there isn’t any more content below, but this would be a great top section for a complex one page website too.
